Caring for your items and cleaning
Cleaning your stagewear
All 'swimsuit' items ordered from us are stage wear and are not intended for swimming. They should not be worn at the beach, submerged in chlorinated water or the ocean, or exposed to sunlight, sand, sun lotion or heat and that we will not be liable for any damaged caused as a result of this.
Please do NOT:
machine wash
use a hairdryer
expose to sunlight, heat or hot water
dry clean
let it sit in the tan for days and weeks before cleaning
The delicacy of the designs and the metal connectors, and crystal embellishments will get damaged if you wash your costume in a machine, with abrasive chemicals or in water which is too hot. Take extreme care when cleaning and treat it as you would a wedding dress that you love. Avoid getting perfumes, moisturisers, alcohol or any other chemicals on any part of the suit.
Cleaning instructions
To clean your costumes, either spot clean areas with a gentle detergent (one scoop) dissolved in warm water (3 litres), use a cloth or non abrasive old toothbrush to gently pat, or rub the dirt off, pat down the excess water, and let it air dry flat on a towel or kitchen paper.
If the garment is heavily soiled, you can gently soak it in the warm water for as short amount of time as possible whilst gently rubbing the soiled areas to clean them. Try to keep this to no more than 2-3 minutes.
Gently rinse the garment under the tap with warm water, until the detergent has come off (around 1 minute). Gently pat off excess water and then lay the garment between a sandwich of kitchen paper or towels and pat off as much water as possible.
Expectations
Tan may or may not come out with cleaning and that is to be expected. We cannot be responsible for any damage caused by washing and our best advice is that you wear your costume with a discreet liner so as to minimise the need to wash the suits as vigorously.
You may experience some loss in crystals and discolouration to your metal hardware over time and this is normal. Both can be replaced.
Can't do it yourself- why not use our experienced stage wear cleaners using non abrasive methods (shop cleaning)
Robes
Due to the custom printing and delicate fabric of the robes, these should not be machine washed hot so as to avoid any peeling, or crystals coming loose. You can cold wash it inside a garment bag, or ideally hand wash the robe using a bucket of warm water and detergent, but be sure to rinse thoroughly and avoid any vigorous scrubbing.
If you forget, and accidentally machine wash hot and the vinyls peel at the corners, you may be able to iron them back down using a low heat for 10-15 seconds. Please ensure you use a protective sheet or layer of baking paper to look after your satin.
Tanning onesies and customised apparel
Our poly blend Tansuits should be washed on a cool, gentle wash. Due to the nature of the fabric and customisation, you want to avoid any hot temperatures and rough washes to ensure longevity in your tanning suit and avoid any shrinking.
If you forget, and accidentally use a hot machine wash and the vinyls peel, you may be able to iron them back down using a low-medium heat. Please ensure you use a protective sheet or layer of baking paper to look after your Tanning onezie.
If that doesn't work, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Theme Wear
Treat your costume like a delicate wedding dress you want to guard with your life! Theme wear often contains chains, gems, props and feathers that are fragile and should not be man-handled. You should store your theme wear in the box provided, in a cool, dry place and avoid getting in and out unless necessary.
Try to avoid catching the chains on any sheer fabrics, and avoid roughing up the costume. Laces and finishes can be extremely delicate and can catch easily, so be gentle and handle with extreme care.
Couture items should be handled, packed, and transported with extreme care. We cannot be liable for any snapped chains, lost gems or damage caused by rough handling the products, not packaging them carefully, or failing to follow the care advice. Please treat your products with love and care.
General
You may wish to resell your items so you will get more value from them if they are properly looked after. In most cases, it is just using common sense, but as a general rule, be gentle, and avoid any stretching of the costume, rough handling, and please take care.
In some instance, we will offer a buy back so we can offer the same beautiful item to new customers in a pre loved, or rental arrangement.
